Our old church which was across the street was replaced with a bigger and brighter church. The picture to the left is the old chapel. The new church began with a vision and then faith was put to work to make it happen. You will also see God's hand at work here at the church as you look through our website.
Ground was broken for the chapel in October 1977. The move into the new chapel was in December 1978. The new building, on a tract of land at Union and Cadbury Streets, is 40 by 80 feet, two stories with an educational area, Sunday school rooms, kitchen and fellowship hall on a lower level. The first floor has the santuary to seat 200 persons, a fellowship area that can be used for additional seating and a nursery and a library lounge.
The Palo Alto Chapel is a part of the Lancaster Conference of the Mennonite Church. The church was begun in this area in 1950, under the direction of Rev. Lester Hoover. The building which has been in use since 1950 became inadequate. It could no longer accommodate all the Sunday school classes and increased activities.
